The NaNuMa-Project can be devided into six work steps:

1. Development of a method for the configuration of entities of use


2. Method for the evaluation of economical and ecological aspects


3. Method for sustainable product creation


4. Method for sustainable business design


5. Validation and publication


6. Empirical validation of BOT-Models and design of an advanced training unit

Subsequently, the developed concepts are valued under economic and ecological aspects of machinery and equipment manufacturers and their stakeholders.

From the perspective of the machinery and equipment manufacturer, the creation of these performance systems can only be achieved by an integrated product and business design. Both processes have to be specially adopted to create the flexibility in physical products as well as in the organisation of companies to cope with the new challenge. The coordination of product development and the design of corresponding business structures and processes is realised in an expanded simultaneous engineering concept.
